Meet Mario! 

Mario is a quiet soul who is learning just how wonderful it can be to be loved. He’s not much of a talker, except when his younger siblings get a little too playful! He enjoys watching the action from a cozy spot nearby and seems especially interested in jingly toys, although he’s not quite ready to join the fun.

Mario loves wet food, tasty treats, and calm affection. He’s always happy to receive gentle pets and chin scratches, though he prefers that you come to him rather than the other way around. He’s still learning his boundaries and can become overstimulated, so he needs a calm, patient person who will respect his signals. When overwhelmed, he may give a little nip.

His ideal home would be peaceful, with a laid-back older cat, calm dogs who don’t bother him, or no other pets at all. Younger animals and children are not his favorite.

Mario is also FIV+, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, and joyful lives—especially in caring indoor homes—and Mario fully plans to live his life to the absolute fullest.

Mario may take some time to fully come out of his shell, but with patience and understanding, this sweet, mellow boy is sure to show you how special he is.
