Meet Layla!
Layla is an incredibly loving young cat rescued from Humane Society who did not have room for her precious new family. As she clearly has experience with people, she may sadly have been abandoned when she became pregnant early in life.
Despite being let down, Layla adapted quickly to her foster home and went right to work as a full on super mom for the next several months. Now Layla is searching for the person or family who will be truly loyal and cherish her for the rest of her long life.
Layla would like a person or family who will welcome her into the bedroom at night. Her favourite thing is being held and cuddled by her people so she would like an adoptive home who has lots of time for her. She would do especially well in a home where there is someone around often to keep her company but it should be noted her nature is quiet and patient, not demanding.
Layla absolutely gets along with other cats but after becoming comfortable in her foster home
she preferred to be the cat in charge, so her adopter(s) should consider the potential of that dynamic. She has not been exposed to dogs and seems to find loud people/children a bit frightening at first. Layla continues to adore, groom and cuddle her daughter Mindy who is her perfect copy. Layla can be adopted on her own but would love to have the opportunity to stay with Mindy.
Layla’s vet said she is perfectly healthy but at times her tummy has been just a little bit sensitive. She wants her new home to know she may prefer a kibble focused diet and food geared towards kitties with sensitivities which are widely available.
Layla is a smart girl who did not seem to have previous exposure to scratching posts when she came into foster care, but is a pro now. Still her new person or people may need to be prepared for a little bit of diversion while she figures out where all the scratching posts are in her new home. Inexpensive removable furniture protecting tape did the trick for her foster home.
Being a young cat, Layla still likes to play and is a great choice for adopters who want to be able to have many years with their new family member(s), but skip the wild kitten phase. Her foster family said that she is the sweetest cat they have ever fostered (of 29), and very difficult to let go.The right person or family will be very lucky to welcome Layla into their home. Layla and Mindy would love for you to come and meet them at the Alley Cat Cafe.
